The Lorient Batwing® Acoustic Smoke Seal is a highly effective seal that can be retrofitted to existing door assemblies to restrict the spread of medium temperature smoke (up to 200°C) and improve sound insulation.
The seal features low-friction curved elastomeric fins that spring back to their original shape to provide continuous performance. It is discreetly positioned in the frame rebate to provide a fully concealed sealing solution. The seal is also easy to install with peel-and-stick backing that is tested on many surfaces to ensure longevity.
The LAS1212 is suitable for gap sizes of 2-3mm, while the LAS1515 is suitable for gap sizes of 3mm. Both seals are available in black with black fins and clear (note that the clear seal does not restrict light penetration).
The LAS1212 & LAS1515 Batwing® Acoustic Smoke Seal is approved for use in fire, smoke, and acoustic applications. It has been tested in accordance with AS1530.4, AS1530.7, ISO10140-2, and AS/NZS717.1, and has achieved ratings up to 4 hours fire, smoke, and 39Rw sound insulation.
The seal is also backed by a long-term mechanical test that has completed 1,000,000 cycles without failure.
